Korean Cuisine - Dubu Dubu Seoul Food


With the appeal of K-Pop, Korean cuisine start to be noticed. There are more Korean cuisine restaurants in Malaysia these few years. In this post, Dubu Dubu Seoul Food will be introduced to you.



The name of this restaurant, Dubu (두부) contains the meaning of tofu in Korean. Dubu Dubu Seoul Food is a Korean cuisine restaurant that serves healthy cuisine that made by tofu. Dubu Dubu attract youth by having their restaurants at convenient locations. Dubu Dubu’s logo is design with cheerful colours and wordings to ingratiate youth. Some of the recipes have been changed to meet the taste buds of the youth . Most important, Dubu Dubu Seoul restaurant have their meat products are all certified as Halal and they are going to work on Halal Certification for the whole restaurant! 

Different from other Korean cuisine, Dubu Dubu Seoul Food have their toppokki 떡볶이 (rice cake) dishes as Spicy Toppokki. Since most of the Malaysian like to have something spicy, they have made the toppokki more spicy than the normal toppokki. Beside that, there is another toppokki dish called Cheese Toppokki. Lots of cheeses are topped on the toppokki. This dish is really different form the traditional Korean cuisine. Spicy Toppokki serve at the price RM14.90 as ala carte and RM15.90 as set. Cheese Toppokki serve in a higher price; RM15.90 as ala carte and RM16.90 as set.

Bibimbap (비빔밥)  is considered as Korean staple meal. Bibimbap is a cuisine that served with a variety of ingredients. In Dubu Dubu, this dish is served with a variety of vegetables, kimchi and meats that arranged beautifully on the rice, topped with a egg in a heated earthen bowl with the special spicy sauce that made by Dubu Dubu. Dubu Dubu uses earthen bowl to replace Dol Sot (돌솥) which mean "hot stone" in Korean to prevent people been burned by the stone. This dish cost around RM16.90 ~ RM17.90 as ala carte and RM18.90 ~ RM19.90 as set.

As mentioned before, this restaurant is to serve healthy food made by tofu. The main dish in Dubu Dubu is Soondubu Jigae (순두부 찌개). This dish is a mix of meats or seafood and silky smooth tofu and cooked as a broth. This dish cost RM15.90 ~ RM18.90, depends on the ingredients you choose.
